After a fantastic response to the first pop up pub in the village hall, It will return on Friday 28th June
This is an opportunity to come along, have a drink, meet your friends and neighbours and have a chat. Best of all, you won’t have to drive home. Hopefully this will become a regular event, but will depend on volunteers to run the bar and of course, people need to use it. Hopefully this will prove to be a success and will be a regular event in the village

One thing Leigh has been missing for many years is the local pub. Well someone has had the bright idea of having a pop up pub in the village hall.
This is an opportunity to come along, have a drink, meet your friends and neighbours and have a chat. Best of all, you won’t have to drive home. Hopefully this will become a regular event, but will depend on volunteers to run the bar and of course, people need to use it. Hopefully this will prove to be a success and will be a regular event in the village.

We received an e-mail last week from Ken McGregor who was delighted to be helped out by a Leigh resident. He kindly wrote to us asking to convey his thanks.
Myself and a friend were doing a circular walk in the area which meant we were in Leigh for our picnic lunch, when I discovered that my two water bottles were contaminated. With another 4 miles to walk I needed to replace the water.
A mature lady happened to be passing, walking her two dogs and I asked her if there was a local shop where I could buy some water. She advised me of the local garage shop, but it was about to close. Before I could start scratching my head for a solution she offered to take my bottles to her house and fill them up for me.
I gratefully accepted her offer and it meant carrying on the walk with two full bottles of water on what was a very warm day.
I just thought that such an act of kindness was worthy of a mention. We see so much miserable news on the media and I feel it is important to recognise that in actuality a lot of good things are occurring all the time but so often go unnoticed.
