Community Defibrillator Seminar

Leigh Village Hall - 7.00pm to 9.00pm
Cost: FREE

Following the installation of a Defibrillator at Leigh Village Hall, The Community Heartbeat Trust will be demonstrating the use of defibrillators and explaining how the equipment works and its benefits to the community in saving precious minutes in the treatment of sudden cardiac arrest.

The more people that know how to use the portable defibrillator installed in our community, the more chance there is of saving the life of a victim of Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

Everybody is welcome, and no special skills are required, just your willingness to play an important role in the event of a medical emergency.

A five year old Indian boy gets lost on the streets of Calcutta, thousands of kilometers from home. He survives many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia; 25 years later, he sets out to find his lost family. Starring Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman

Moviola - La La Land (12A)

Mia, an aspiring actress, serves lattes to movie stars in between auditions and Sebastian, a jazz musician, scrapes by playing cocktail party gigs in dingy bars. But as success mounts they are faced with decisions that begin to fray the fragile fabric of their love affair. Starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

Yetminster Fair

The annual Fair is back after a successful rebirth in 2016 - a myriad of stalls and entertainment suitable for all the family - don't miss the flower display and the Yetminster Irish Dancers in the Church and the Scouts cream teas are to die for. The White Hart is open all day for refreshments.

Free parking off the Ryme Road (signposted) with limited mobility parking in the Health Centre car park in Church Street.

Leigh Food Fair and Vintage/Classic Car/Bike Display
Saturday 29th July 2017
Leigh Village Hall - 10.00am to 4.00pm
Cost: £2.00 adults, under 15s free

Taste and buy some of the best food and drink on offer from local producers. The Stallholders will include: Alweston Jam and Chutney Empire, Chocolate Arthouse, Dorset Fishcakes, Dorset Pie Company,Fussels Fine Foods, James's Cheeses, James's Forager Spirit, Lavender Blue Food Co.,Leakers Bakery, Liberty Cakes, Little Groves Nursery, Meat Free Martha, Olives 'n' Stuff, Oxfords Bakery, Reads Coffee Roasters, Percy’s Bakery, Simply Sprinkle, Somerset Cider Brandy Co., Tim Hurren Icecream Tricycle, White Post Gate Honey, Wriggle Valley Beer, Wraxall Wines, Wyld Meadow Farm, and Yarty Cordials.

Barbecued hamburgers and sausages, refreshments, ice cream, beer and cider will be here! Entertainment includes children’s activities.

A variety of interesting Veteran/Classic cars and motorbikes will also be on display. Car owners are not charged to enter the Show, AND get 2 tickets per car to allow them free access in to the Food Fair!!

This is proving to be a very successful annual show, AND will, of course, be in our amazing Village Hall. Please spread the word to your friends and relations – it really is a day NOT to be missed.

Proceeds go to Leigh Village Hall, The Hub, Yeovil, St Andrew’s Church, Leigh and other charities.
It will be opened by Sue and Graham Fudge, formerly of Thomas J Fudge's

Leigh Art Show
Friday 20th October 2017 to Sunday 22nd October 2017
Leigh Village Hall - Preview 6-8pm Friday, 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday.
Cost: £5.00 for preview on Friday 6-8pm, free other days.

Leigh Art Show is a showcase for local talent for both professional and amatuer artists. We encourage artists in the fields of painting, ceramics, printing, drawing and sculpture to exhibit and to sell their works in Leigh Village Hall. Lunches and teas will be provided.

There will be an opportunity to have your portrait done in pastels by well-known portrait artist James Meiklejohn. A workshop for children on Sunday from 10.00am to 12.00noon will be an exciting opportunity for children to create there own multimedia images. Please book these in advance - contact below.
